I've been wanting to start a new blog for awhile. I just didn't feel inspired to continue my old blogsite as it wasn't carrying on the focus for which it was started. Sometimes I just want to write more than on a Facebook post or a Twitter feed. So, this blog will allow me to talk about anything I please without having some unwritten food boundary to it.
So, I got to explain Hoodburbia. Kind of a funny story. When I was the executive chef for the IVY Club, I was trying to explain to someone where I lived (for whatever reason). They finally figured it out and exclaimed "Oh, you live in the hood"! My sous chef at the time piped up "no he doesn't...I live on XYZ street..THAT is the hood. He lives across ABC street in Hoodburbia". So, I can't claim the term, but use it frequently. Of course, I'm sort of in a small, lost area of Peoria. I'm pretty sure I'm setting at the edge of the East Bluff even though the local newspaper (who seems to have its own version of a city districting map) has referred to it as the North Valley.
So, who knows what I will write or complain about here.
